The design and art world descend on Mexico City’s sinking streets (more on that later) in early February to see and be seen. The vibe is young and hungry with European sophistication. It’s everything you want from a trending city with burgeoning talent. The food, the art, the OUTFITS! They are all on point and I took rigorous notes to help clarify what to wear to feel confident among this cool crowd while also indulging (just a bit) in Mexican heritage and ancient Aztec culture to influence your ensembles.
Rule #1: Say YES to the poncho. Short, long- doesn’t matter, just do it.
Rule #2: Layer your jewelry. The more necklaces, earrings, and bracelets the better.
Rule #3: Cowboy boots complete the outfit. Especially those knee high ones. I picked up a pair when I was there and it has opened up so many more outfit options!
