Hot Days, Cool Mornings: My Week in Outfits
From boating to filming, here’s how I styled my staples for an 80° week with layers that kept things effortless from sunrise to sunset in Jackson, WY.
Last week in Jackson brought the kind of summer weather that keeps you on your toes—cool mornings in the 40s/50s that quickly gave way to afternoons in the 80s. To make the most of the swings, I leaned on my favorite layering tricks: lightweight jean jackets over dresses, button-downs I could shrug off by midday, and sandals as my primary footwear choice. The week was full of variety—from a boat day on Jackson Lake, to filming our next Jackson Jem episode, to a client styling session—and my wardrobe staples carried me through each moment with ease. In this post, you’ll find the daily breakdown with outfits, weather snapshots, and links to shop the pieces I reached for most.
Late-summer dressing is all about flexibility. Start with light, breathable staples in linen or cotton, then add layers you can peel away as the sun climbs. A crisp button-down or a lightweight knit or jacket can transform a simple base look, keeping you polished for cool mornings while still effortless in the heat of the afternoon.
I’m all about the oversized jacket as my go-to layer this month. If you don’t yet have one in your closet, check out this week’s shopping list for some inspiration. Even an oversized button down shirt in a neutral hue will do the job.
Happy Layering! xx Greta
